Zilwaukee Cub Scouts--Halloween Party 2009
The Cub Scouts Pack 3377 annual Halloween Party was once again a great success. All of the cub scouts decorated their pumpkins for the annual pumpkin-decorating contest. There was Bobbing For Apples, Jack-O-Lantern Bean Bag Toss, and Spooky Memory. Most everyone dressed up for the occassion, including siblings and parents. Winners were picked for the best and most original costumes. After a short monthly pack meeting, a few of the scout mothers graciously tended the treat buffet, which was chock-full of goodies. Great fun was had by all. Way to go, Cub Scouts!

The Parish Hall is available for rent to parishioners only, at the economical price of $250 plus a $50 cash deposit. Contact the Parish Office for availability. Come in person, one month in advance of the desired date, to fill out required paperwork, and to make full payment. Payment requires 2 separate checks plus a $50 cash deposit:
- $100 Check Made Payable to: Michigan Catholic Conference;
- $150 Check Made Payable to: St. Matthew Church; and
- $50 Cash Security Deposit, returned upon meeting all 'terms of exit' conditions of the rental agreement, as listed below.
Hall Rental--Terms of Exit Checklist:
- The floors should be swept.
- Any trash bagged.
- The chairs folded and stacked on top of tables.
- All the heat thermostats or air-conditioners shut off.
- All interior and exterior lights turned off, including the hallway, kitchen, bathrooms, and front and back porch lights.
- All windows should be closed shut and locked.
- The front and back doors should be closed shut and locked.
- The hall key returned to the Parish Office.
If any of the foregoing conditions are not met,
the $50 cash deposit will be forfeited.
There are other restrictions that pertain to Parish Hall rental as well, regarding items such as disc jockeys, rental duration, volume of music, parking, hall availability, etc.. Please call Sr. Janet for more information regarding these additional restrictions.
St. Matthew Parish Hall was built in 1958. Our parish hall is a clean, well-maintained banquet facility, complete with tables and folding chairs, suitable for showers and weddings, luncheons, parties and meetings. Facilities include: the main L-shaped banquet room, a large conference room, full kitchen with serving windows, portable salad bar island, men's and women's public bathroom facilities, and a wall-to-wall coat rack. The hall can seat approximately 225 people for dinner. Hall capacity is 250 people.

St. Matthew Parish Hall has been in operation since 1958, and serves as the parish gathering facility, where parishioners meet and eat and celebrate special occassions. It's frequently used throughout the year for various parish functions, such as funeral dinners, the annual fish fry, bingos, bazaars, meetings, and parish breakfasts and dinners. It is also the home and meeting place of both the Zilwaukee Cub Scouts Pack 3377, and the Zilwaukee Boy Scouts Troop (click here for Scout photo albums). Our parish hall serves not only our parish, but our community as well, being one of the only rental halls in the community, and is available for rent to parishioners, for such special events as weddings, bridal and baby showers, graduation parties, and family reunions. St. Matthew Parish Hall holds many precious memories for our parishioners, with more fond memories to come.
Zilwaukee Cub Scouts Pack 3377 Held Their Annual Pine Wood Derby Race at St. Matthews Parish Hall on Feb. 28th. It was fun for all at this exciting event!
